Default Should South Bend go for an indoor turfgrass field?

I couldn't help but notice the speed that Notre Dame had with its RBs and Golden Tate. It looked even faster and harder to deal with on an indoor turf field (which is what I thought they played at Washington State this weekend).

This brought this thought to my mind, why not go for turf at South Bend?

Because growing out the grass at ND Stadium is a "homefield advantage"

Didn't they not cut the grass for a month leading up to the USC game

Given the historical nature of Notre Dame, my hunch is the grass will go when the golden helmets do.
