Default State Tournament Sectionals

have officially begun. A few near upsets in 5A. Carmel beats Westfield 21-7,
5A #2 Columbus East survives against Columbus North 27-26. Also, 5A #3 Warren Central wins 14-13 over Franklin Central. Avon upsets power Ben Davis 28-24. No major upsets elsewhere in any class, and Week 1 of Sectionals round up tomorrow night. Then Week 2 next week!

The Playoffs for State are underway!

BD may not be a power, but they did make it to semi state last year...

Had they not played CG, who was arguably one of the best HS teams in the entire nation, they likely would've been to state.

Even though CG/Carmel definitely deserved it.

Yea, terrible recap of the week when you don't even mention the defending champions in the state. Good one...

I wasn't recapping. I started a thread for discussion not recaps. I was just stating some near monumental upsets of state favorites. I don't know which defending champ you were talking about, but Center Grove didn't come close to being upset nor did Cathedral. It is a given that Cathedral will win 4A again. Chatard should win 3A, Ritter 2A, and Ritter is not even A anymore. They are 2A in with Heritage Christian now. I don;t which state champ you were talking about, but none of which came close to losing. Center Grove, while good, probably are not favorites to win state this year.

Center Grove is definetly NOT favored to win state. They lost almost their entire team to graduation. They have 2 or 3 returning starters, They are not that good this year comparativley.....however, neither are a lot of other teams (carmel, warren central, etc.)

My Southern Wells Raiders are behind 21-0 at this point, but they have had a great year and I am so proud of them.
